A calcium carbonate concentrate in LDPE or LLDPE carrier, used to replace 10–30% of virgin resin in polyethylene film while keeping tensile strength and gloss within specification. Supplied as free-flowing granules in 25 kg bags.
What it does: calcium carbonate is a low-cost mineral filler. Adding it at the right rate lowers resin consumption per tonne of finished film, raises stiffness and improves dimensional stability, at the cost of some tensile and tear strength.

Values are stated for standard grades. The datasheet issued with your order takes precedence over this page.
This grade is built for cost reduction in polyolefin film and moulded parts. It is not a universal filler.
| Process | Typical addition | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Blown film (LDPE / LLDPE) | 10–30% | Above 30% tear strength drops sharply; run a trial before committing |
| Cast film (CPE / CPP) | 10–25% | Lower loading preserves gloss |
| Injection molding (PP) | 20–40% | Raises stiffness and heat deflection temperature |
| Raffia / woven sack | 15–30% | Improves body and reduces fibrillation |
Rates assume a 80% CaCO3 grade. Higher-content grades require a lower addition rate to reach the same filler level.

Issued per production batch with measured values and the batch number, so the numbers you receive match the numbers you were quoted.

Standard film grades carry 75–85% calcium carbonate by weight, typically 80%. If you need a different loading, tell us the filler level you want in the finished product and we will quote the matching concentrate.
Yes, above a certain loading. Tensile and tear strength fall as filler content rises. In blown film most producers stay at or below 30% addition; the exact ceiling depends on your resin, die and draw ratio, so a trial on your own line is the only reliable test.
Mesh size describes how finely the calcium carbonate is ground: 1250 mesh is roughly 10 μm, 2500 mesh roughly 5 μm. Finer particles disperse better and give a smoother film surface, but cost more.
Yes, on request, against the relevant destination regulation. Food-contact grades are quoted separately because the raw material source and heavy-metal testing differ from standard grades.
One metric ton per grade, with a 7–15 day production lead time depending on grade and quantity. Trial quantities can be combined with other grades on one pallet.
Tell us your resin, process, target addition rate and destination port. We reply within one working day with the matching grade, its TDS and an FOB price per tonne.
